Legitsu Academy student Andrea Cahill won five of six matches this past weekend at a tournament in Manhattan, winning a gold medal in submission wrestling and a silver medal in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
Who is Professor Mikko Trott?
Bermudian Born.
"I used to work in the reinsurance industry as an underwriter for 10 years. My journey felt far from complete. I decided it was time for a major change… so I picked up and moved to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to study Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at the source of the martial art. Trained at Gracie Humaita Jiu-Jitsu, the source of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, starting as a white belt. I lived and breathed Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for 9 years with Gracie Humaita, studying under Rolker and Royler Gracie, eventually leaving Brazil a Black Belt under the Gracie Humaita name.”

After nearly a decade in Brazil, I decided it was time to bring my knowledge and skill to my home of Bermuda and open Legitsu Academy of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Being the only Bermudian to ever be trained at Gracie Humaita, my hope is to divulge techniques to our community that will help them negociate themselves out of a bad situation, mental or physical. “
